Pine & Crane FAQs

Some answers to our most common FAQs:

1. When did you open?

Pine & Crane opened its doors on March 31, 2014. We’re still very new, figuring out what works best and where we can improve the Pine & Crane experience for our guests. We welcome your feedback, comments and suggestions–-please feel free to leave them here or on Yelp, or to visit our Contact page.

2. I hear Pine & Crane gets really crowded for dinner. Can I make a reservation?

We do not take reservations since we’re super casual here and guests seat themselves after placing their order at the counter. While evenings do tend to be busy (for which we are very grateful!), our staff will ensure that your experience ordering, finding a seat and enjoying your meal runs as smoothly as possible.

3. What about phone orders or orders to go?

We happily accept take-out orders, both in person and over the phone. Please be aware that phone orders may take up to 50 minutes on busy weekend nights. Thank you for your patience!

4. What happens if I order food but can’t find an open table?

Not to worry: we will automatically communicate with the kitchen and make sure your food doesn’t come out before you’ve had a chance to get settled at your table. Feel free to enjoy one of our signature iced teas while you wait!

5. It’s so beautiful outside! Can I sit at the tables outside at Sunset Triangle?

Of course! We love being part of the Sunset Triangle community. One thing to note: due to the public nature of the outdoor space, we cannot serve food using Pine & Crane dishes and glassware on the square. If you would like to eat outside, please order your meal to-go. Our staff will provide you with plastic utensils, water cups, etc.

6. I’m a vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free diner. Do you have anything for me on your menu?

Absolutely! While Pine & Crane is not a vegetarian restaurant, we do offer a solid variety of vegetarian/vegan options and select gluten-free dishes. Please ask at the counter for guidance when placing your order, or feel free to call us and find out what current offerings we have to suit your dietary needs. While some dishes cannot be modified due to extended braising and simmering processes, we will do everything we can to accommodate you. When in doubt, just ask!
